History of Saudi National Day
On September 23, 1932, King Abdulaziz issued a royal decree unifying the various regions under the name "Kingdom of Saudi Arabia." This came after three decades of effort that began with the recapture of Riyadh in 1902.
Since then, Saudi Arabia has undergone remarkable transformations β from the discovery of oil to Vision 2030, which drives economic diversification, cultural openness, and social reform.
Vision 2030 and National Achievements
Vision 2030, launched in 2016 by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, aims to diversify the economy beyond oil. Major achievements include the futuristic NEOM city project, Riyadh and Jeddah entertainment seasons, opening international tourism, and empowering women in the workforce.
Saudi National Day is an occasion to celebrate these achievements and look forward to the Kingdom's ambitious future.
