Saudi National Day Countdown

Saudi National Day is celebrated annually on September 23, commemorating the unification of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by King Abdulaziz in 1932. In 2026, the Kingdom celebrates its 96th National Day. It is a public holiday marked by spectacular celebrations across the country.

The day features concerts, fireworks displays, air shows, and cultural events in all major cities. Buildings and landmarks are illuminated in green — the national color.

On September 23, 1932, King Abdulaziz issued a royal decree unifying the various regions under the name "Kingdom of Saudi Arabia." This came after three decades of effort that began with the recapture of Riyadh in 1902.

Since then, Saudi Arabia has undergone remarkable transformations — from the discovery of oil to Vision 2030, which drives economic diversification, cultural openness, and social reform.

Vision 2030, launched in 2016 by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, aims to diversify the economy beyond oil. Major achievements include the futuristic NEOM city project, Riyadh and Jeddah entertainment seasons, opening international tourism, and empowering women in the workforce.

Saudi National Day is an occasion to celebrate these achievements and look forward to the Kingdom's ambitious future.
