Study Plan: How to Prepare for the TOEFL
A structured study plan maximizes your TOEFL score:
3-4 months out: Take a diagnostic test, build academic vocabulary, read English-language publications daily, and listen to academic podcasts (TED Talks, NPR).
1-2 months out: Take weekly full practice tests, focus on your weakest section, record Speaking responses for self-review, and use the Pomodoro Timer for focused study sessions.
Final 2 weeks: Do full-length practice tests only, review Writing and Speaking templates, prioritize sleep over last-minute cramming.
On average, focused preparation of 2-3 months can improve scores by 10-15 points.
