Qudurat Exam Countdown

The Qudurat (قدرات) is the Saudi General Aptitude Test administered by the National Center for Assessment (Qiyas). It measures verbal and quantitative reasoning abilities rather than subject-specific knowledge. All Saudi high-school graduates who wish to enroll in public universities must sit this standardized test.

Scores are valid for five years and are used alongside the Tahsili achievement test when calculating university admission averages. The exam is offered multiple times each year at Qiyas centers across the Kingdom.

Effective Qudurat preparation starts with understanding the two main sections: verbal reasoning (reading comprehension, analogy, error detection) and quantitative reasoning (arithmetic, algebra, geometry). The National Center for Assessment publishes official sample questions on its website — working through these is the single most valuable practice step.

Dedicate at least eight weeks to preparation. Split study sessions between verbal and quantitative sections, and use full timed mock exams in the final two weeks to build speed and stamina. Many students find that practicing with a countdown timer visible helps simulate real test-day pressure and improves time management.

Qudurat scores range from 300 to 900. Most competitive programs at top Saudi universities such as King Abdulaziz University and King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals require scores above 80 on the standardized percentile scale.

The university composite score is calculated using a weighted average: the General Secondary Certificate (GPA), the Qudurat score, and the Tahsili score each carry a specified weight depending on the institution.
